Located adjacent to Columbia County, the U.S. Army Signal Center at Fort Gordon is the largest electronic communications center of its kind in the world.  The center specializes in state-of-the-art communications through satellite and computer-based technologies.  Fort Gordon is also home to the U.S. Army’s Computer Science School and to a joint-services intelligence organization that serves the U.S. Department of Defense.  In addition, Fort Gordon is home to the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, which serves as a regional army hospital for 5 southeastern states and Puerto Rico.

Aside from an estimated regional economic impact of more than $1 billion, graduates of the U.S. Army Signal Center provide the Augusta MSA with thousands of disciplined, well-trained, and technologically capable employees for its workforce.
