Natural Gas

Competition between many natural gas suppliers in Columbia County keeps price levels low and quality service standards high.

The deregulation of the Atlanta Gas Light Company in 1997 by the Georgia General Assembly ensured an environment of increased competition and market-based pricing in Georgia’s natural gas industry.  While the Atlanta Gas Light Company still owns the pipes and distributes natural gas to the Augusta MSA, the gas is now sold by several competing marketers.  Companies providing natural gas to this area are displayed in the table below:
