The Development Authority of Columbia County

As a public, non-profit economic development agency, the Development Authority of Columbia County (DACC) works to advance commerce throughout the 300-square mile area of Columiba County, Georgia. The DACC works to identify the needs of those businesses seeking to expand or locate in the county.

Once the scope of a business project is fully known, and the needs identified, the DACC seeks to:

  • Reduce the cost of project financing through the use of federal, state, and/or local government low-interest loan funds and financing programs;
  • Lower the operating costs of a project through the use of workforce training programs and/or tax incentives on qualified projects;
  • Identify suitable project building sites or properties; and
  • Facilitate the ease of project permitting and implementation.

The DACC draws upon a wide array of available economic development tools and agency relationships to help businesses, including:

  • The compilation of demographic material to demonstrate workforce capabilities and market demand;
  • The maintenance of a database listing available buildings and sites in the county; and,
  • The provision of on-line links to state and local organizations that can provide technical and financial assistance.
